CRAVATA GALBENA - THE YELLOW TIE
The Yellow Tie tells the story of world renowned Romanian conductor
Sergiu Celibidache
The film - written by Sergiu’s son Serge and James Oliver - follows the conductors extraordinary life:
from growing up in Iasi, Romania and going against his fathers wishes to pursue music, to then surviving World War Two in Berlin, becoming a famous conductor touring the world (and for a few years taking the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra to international heights !)
“The story goes into depth on Sergiu’s tense relationship with his father, played by Sean Bean. And even though Maria - his mother that I play - is not in focus, for me personally it meant a lot to play a real person - someone who might be just a footnote on Wikipedia but who lived, raised five children - one a son who’s life she could only follow through letters and hearing him on the radio.” - Lina Sandén
The Yellow Tie was shot in Romania and has an impressive cast starring John Malkovich, Miranda Richardson, Sean Bean and Ben Schnetzer.
