Interview in Budapester Zeitung

Interview with Budapester Zeitung

Budapester Zeitung is a German-language newspaper published in Budapest, Hungary. I was interviewed about my relationship to the city and what it’s meant for my career as a singer.

Can you read German? Well then you can find the whole article here: https://www.budapester.hu/2020/03/08/egal-wo-ich-bin-budapest-bleibt-fur-immer-mein-zuhause

I moved to Budapest back in 2013, for 6 months to learn the language. Hands-down it is one of the defining moments of my life, a turning point if we want to be poetic.
That was my first experience moving abroad and the moment i dared to go after something I had wanted for a long time - even though I was scared. I spent my first month bursting into tears - in coffee shops, on the phone with my boyfriend, seeing a familiar cheese in the local supermarket (it’s true). Budapest is where I found my feet and my inner strength.

Budapest will always - even if I live in Bucharest or travel or hanging out in Sweden during the Corona-lock dow - Budapest will always be home.

PS a big thank you to Elisabeth Katalin Grabow for the opportunity.
